Listenin’ to the City CCNY/CWE

The aim of this group is to explore ‘listening’ as part of a journalistic practice. Our members have actively listened to local organizations throughout the city and work on a digital project to document their experiences through expository and creative writing, audio/video recordings and photography.

The Garden Apprentice Program (GAP) at Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers an exciting opportunity for teens to immerse themselves in urban agriculture and environmental education while contributing to one of the world’s most renowned public gardens.

Designed for teens with a passion for gardening and a desire to make a difference, GAP provides a structured four-tier program that allows participants to develop skills, cultivate plants, and engage with the community. With a nine-month commitment spanning from March to November, apprentices embark on a journey of learning, growth, and hands-on experience in horticulture and environmental stewardship.

Applications for the 2025 program will be available in fall 2024. Please email gap@bbg.org for more information.
