Just sharing information about the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable’s upcoming meeting here, for anyone who might not be on CULIBS:

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, October 17 at 3-4pm, on Zoom:

At this meeting, we’ll discuss two brief articles – the first is a holdover from the September meeting, and the second was selected to complement the first:

• What’s missing? The role of community colleges in building a more inclusive institutional repository landscape (from College & Research Libraries News, April 2023), co-authored by CUNY colleagues Meg Wacha (formerly of OLS), Michael Kirby (KBCC), jean amaral (BMCC), Elizabeth Jardine (LaGuardia), Meagan Lacy (Guttman), and Catherine Lyons (Hostos).
• Encouraging Scholarship in the Community College (from NISOD), includes a nice overview of Boyer’s model of scholarship. (Thanks to jean amaral for the recommendation!)

If possible, please read the articles in advance of the meeting, and bring your thoughts, questions, and ideas.

No scholarly communication expertise is needed to attend. Anyone who’s curious about scholarly communication topics — as well as anyone curious about the specific issue of encouraging, disseminating, and recognizing community college scholarship — is welcome!
