LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable meeting, 1/17 @ 4-5pm

  • Hi all!

The next meeting of the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable will be Wednesday, January 17 at 4-5pm, on Zoom:

    https://gc-cuny-edu.zoom.us/j/86922301089?pwd=YTVBSUpqQy9WS3BmMEg4Zk9aTTZZdz09

At this meeting, we’ll be joined by our former colleague Nancy Foasberg, who is now Scholarly Communication Librarian at Villanova University (a private university with about 6800 undergraduates, about 3100 graduate students…and a huge endowment). She’ll share her observations about scholcomm at Villanova—what’s similar to her scholcomm work at Queens College, what’s different, what’s surprising, what her priorities are, what challenges she’s encountering, etc. Sometimes we get so used to how things are at our own institution that it’s good to hear how things work at a different one. And Nancy is one of the few people with in-depth knowledge of scholcomm at both CUNY and a different institution!

Please join us, and bring your questions! As always, no scholarly communication expertise is needed to attend. Anyone who’s interested is welcome!

I hope to see you there!
    Jill (Chair, Scholarly Communications Roundtable)

PS: I still need to finish the notes from the December meeting. I’ll send those around soon!
