Video tutorials: tools and tricks to get started
Workshop led by Julia Pollack, Reference & Instruction Librarian at BCC

    Friday, April 18, 2014
    10am–1pm
Bronx Community College Library, rm. 210 (http://bcc-libweb.bcc.cuny.edu/location.html)

Creating video tutorials for students can be a daunting task. This workshop will break down the basic tools and tricks needed to start producing video tutorials in your library. We will first consider video storytelling structures. Then we will take a look at a few different screen capture programs, focusing specifically on Camtasia. We will also have a discussion about sound production and the programs that can help you create clean professional audio tracks.

The computer lab will have all the software necessary to enjoy this hands-on workshop. However, you are welcome to bring your own laptop if you want to try these programs on your own machine. This workshop is open to all CUNY librarians.
