Hunter College Learning Lab
Hunter College Learning Lab (HCLL) community provides a vehicle for communication and sharing resources to the HCLL community, including: families, P-12 students, and teachers enrolled in Hunter College Special Education Learning Disabilities program.
Hunter College Learning Lab (HCLL) is a bi-weekly year-long tutoring program supervised by a team of experienced special educators and the Pesky research director. Annually, almost 250 students with learning disabilities from across New York City engage in interest-driven specially designed learning experiences. Tutoring includes challenges that are disciplinary (i.e. reading, writing, and math) and interdisciplinary (i.e. exploring issues, e.g., too many rats and projects, e.g., book making). As tutees pursue learning planned to develop each student’s unique potential, educators earning a master’s degree focused on Learning Disabilities learn to implement high leverage teaching practices and evidence-based interventions.
