Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

Reminder: GIS Day Event, Tomorrow 11/14

  • Hi everyone,

I just wanted to send a reminder that we’ll be having the event “GIS Day @ the GC: Sharing Social Applications of GIS” tomorrow from 5pm-7pm in room 7414. We have a great lineup of presenters—4 faculty members and 4 Ph.D. students—who will be talking about how they use GIS for their research. After the presentations, there will be time for an open discussion, so bring your questions and ideas to bounce off of each other. Even if you’ve never used GIS before, come and get inspired!

We’ll have light food and drinks.  We hope to see you there!

    Best,

    Olivia
