CUNY Technology, Arts, and Gaming (CUNY TAG)

CUNY TAG is a student-led network of clubs and organizations centered around media and digital culture, and the people who create it. Our mission is to spread knowledge and awareness of the importance of these groups and the value of studying emerging mediums. Our pilot program, the CUNY TAG Culture Club Union, connects student leaders to establish a line of communication between these types of clubs on CUNY campuses, to support each other so we can hold more events for our own respective student bodies, and to encourage collaboration on other future events.

Waffle Games 2.0

Hello all, we at CUNY TAG are in the process of planning the 2nd Annual Waffle Games, a convention focused on the NYC games industry and affordable game design education. Our website is not up and running yet (should be by tomorrow), but we are taking submissions for panels, workshops, and events!

The convention is scheduled for 5-11PM on April 5th at Hunter College.

These are the student groups currently on board as of late:

- Dominoes Club of Hunter College
- Esports and Game Design Collective of Hunter College
- Fighting Games Association of Hunter College
- Hunted Hero Comics of Hunter College
- Queer Student Union of Hunter College
- WHCS Radio of Hunter College
- Esports Association of Baruch College
- Gamer Culture Club of Kingsborough Community College
- Esports Club of City College of Technology
- Global Pop Culture Club of Lehman College
- Sci-Fi and Animation Club of Queens College
We’ve already gotten back some confirmations from game studios and esports companies in NYC who will be exhibiting at the event, as well as some student and alumni speakers. We do need some extra hands to help with registration day-of, as well.
