Today, 167 Fairview Avenue is an unremarkable single-family home on a leafy, quiet street near Staten Island’s Clove Lakes Park—but a century ago—it was at the center of a terrible conflict between a family trying to live the American Dream and the forces of racism and bigotry.This documentary comic, a non fiction illustrated history in graphic novel form that Mr. Ledwith and Mr. Harris are creating: "Standoff on Fairview Avenue," aims to shed greater light on this important and neglected chapter in American history.
