- Worked with Rita Obeid on “Exploring the Relationship between Implicit Statistical and Language Development. ” Implicit statistical learning is characterized by difficulties in obtaining rule-based characteristics of language such as phonology and grammar (syntax and morphology). Research has shown implicit statistical learning to be impaired in children with Specific Language Impairments (SLI) and dyslexia, when compared to age-matched controls. Studies by linking individual differences in implicit statistical learning with specific aspects of language development in a community sample of school age children (6 to 10 years old)
