CALL FOR Teaching Show and Tell Presentations

Do you want to show off your clever teaching ideas and successful classroom exercises?Submit your teaching activities to our Teaching Show and Tell!
On October 12, 2012, the Psychology Student Leadership Council (PSLC) will host the Third Annual Pedagogy Day at the Graduate Center. This event brings together people of all levels of experience who are interested in the Teaching of Psychology at CUNY.
This year we invite ALL DOCTORAL STUDENTS IN PSYCHOLOGY who are teaching courses to share their favorite teaching activities that they have found helpful in the classroom.
Deadline for Abstract Submission: September 28, 2012
Submission Guidelines:Please e-mail a brief (250 words or less) description of your activity to the Pedagogy Day Planning Committee at cuny.psychology@gmail.com by September 28. Your description must contain the following:
• Title of the presentation
• Purpose of the activity/theory or concept the exercise illustrates
• Description of the activity
Participants will be asked to demonstrate the activity at the Teaching Show and Tell session of Pedagogy Day 2012. Participants will be asked to present a 5 minute 5-slide PowerPoint presentation:
• 1-2 slides devoted to the concept your activity illustrates
• 1 slide describing the activity
• 1-2 slides discussing the learning outcomes of your activityWe will accommodate as many submissions as we can. Applicants will be notified of acceptance of their presentations by October 5, 2012. At that time, presenters who have been selected to participate in the Teaching Show and Tell will be asked to submit their five presentation slides no later than 5 p.m. on October 10th.
