This short article is about how “natural selection” was actually one of a number of metaphors Darwin tried out to encapsulate his theories of evolution. It is by Kensy Cooperrider, a cognitive scientist specializing in metaphor at U Chicago. I like this article’s interdisciplinary approach. I found it through Rhetsy, which is a weekly email newsletter by Syracuse comp/rhet professor Colin Brooke, who provides links to recent articles related to rhetoric (tinyletter.com/rhetsy).
