These are links to two statements made by Arundhati Roy in the wake of what many consider a surge in extreme right wing activity in India. Roy often faces the accusation of not having written anything since her beautiful novel, God of Small Things, and insists on reminding her interlocutors that she has published many hard-hitting and critically acclaimed texts. I thought looking at these statements could help us think about the worldliness of the writer and the production of “art”.
