Felix Bernstein uploaded Gertrude Stein, Rejection Letter to

This 1912 mocking rejection letter from a London publisher to Gertrude Stein is not related to my research topic per se but, as a writer who submits poems and essays regularly, it is funny to see an earlier era’s crude rejection of a now (fairly) ubiquitously celebrated poet. Would be interesting to figure out how to cite this…the image circulated blogs quite a bit this year (including the blogs of Paris Review and Poetry Magazine), which is how I found it. Looking in Google books it seems to have been published most recently, in print, in 2014: a book called “Letters of Note,” which attributes the page to the Yale library’s rare book collection (reprinted with permission).
