From a course that you have taught, whether as writing intensive or not, identify one key concept or idea that students usually have trouble with, that seems a kind of sticking-point or barrier to student understanding, the one that always seems like a struggle to get across to them.
Write a brief, one-paragraph description of the concept, how it figures in the course of which it is a part, and the problems that students have with it. Print out and bring with you-we’ll be using this in the workshop.
