October 20-24 is International Open Access Week<http://www.openaccessweek.org/page/about> a global event that provides an opportunity for researchers and academics to learn and share knowledge about Open Access and other Open Educational Resources.

Here are a few resources and action ideas that you might take during OA Week:

1. Reproduce and distribute Jill Cirasella’s “Open Access…The Very Basics” infographic (http://openaccess.commons.gc.cuny.edu/files/2011/05/OA-The-Very-Basics-Oct-2013.pdf)

2. Send Beth Evan’s email template to faculty suggesting OA titles for class (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lh3c1v9gbgtdypy/template_OAfaculty_letter%202014.docx?dl=0)<https://www.dropbox.com/s/lh3c1v9gbgtdypy/template_OAfaculty_letter%202014.docx?dl=0>

3. Promote and attend SCRT’s screening of the documentary The Internet’s Own Boy<http://www.takepart.com/internets-own-boy> which examines the life and contributions of Internet and information activist Aaron Swartz on Fri Oct 24, 3-5pm at BMCC, room N780.

Ah, thanks for prompting me to do this, Karen! I made an OA Week 2014 category (and applied it to your post) and set it so anything with that category will appear on this page: http://openaccess.commons.gc.cuny.edu/category/open-access-week/oa-week-2014/

So, anyone who posts anything about OA Week 2014, just make sure to assign it that category!
