As CUNY begins to approach the task of setting up an IR, as mentioned in the OA resolution last fall, I would suggest that anyone who is involved take a close look at Dorothea Salo’s presentation on Slideshare, “Avoiding the Heron’s Way.” Salo has been quite active in the IR world for the past 5-6 years, having published on IR and OA, and, for a number of years, was running the IR at the University of Wisconsin Madison.

If you download the slides, you’ll see that she’s typed out detailed notes for each slide that are provocative and full of excellent suggestions.
