    > CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
    > The Library at LaGuardia Community College is seeking a part-time Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Access (OA) Librarian or Instructional Technologist (Non-teaching Adjunct) who will provide members of the College community with guidance, instruction, and support in creating, disseminating, and using OER and OA resources. Current graduate students are welcome to apply. This advocate for OER and OA will report to the Library’s OER Coordinator and perform the following, but not limited to, duties:
    >
    > The OER Librarian works with New York State OER grant recipients who have won the NYS OER grant, helping them to find, select, and customize OER material. The OER librarian also helps to organize the material, for ease of student access. The role serves as a resource for grantees striving to maintain pedagogical soundness as they replace expensive textbooks and encourage open pedagogical practices. The librarian will also help teach an OER seminar for faculty and staff during the spring semester.

    > Recent OER projects include working with the Natural Sciences Department to create to create a robust OER portal to serve students and faculty as well as a Teams site to organize project documentation; working with the English Department on training faculty and project leads on best options and practices for an OER portal in development.
    >
    > Assists with the coordination of the OER program in activities that may include outreach and communication with faculty, chairs, coordinators and other stakeholders on campus; maintaining clear records of projects-in-progress; and helping develop workflows and best practices.
    > Assists with the coordination of the Institutional Repository (IR) program with OER activities that may include collecting OER for deposit; checking and approving submissions; communicating with those who submit work to the IR; and helping develop workflows and best practices. Works with the IR Coordinators to help share open content.

    > Creates and maintains instructional materials for librarians and faculty related to OER and IR procedures and workflows.
    >
    > Creates and implements materials for student OER outreach and advocacy.
    >
    > Performs other related duties as assigned.
    >
    > MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    > Currently enrolled in a Master’s in Library Science (MLS), Master’s in Library Information Studies (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution, or a closely related discipline.
    > Familiarity with Open Educational Resources, Open Access, and Institutional Repositories.

    > OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
    > The following qualifications are preferred:
    > Working knowledge of concepts such as intellectual property, copyright, and academic publishing practices
    > Experience with WordPress
    > Science librarianship
    > Experience with outreach and marketing of events or programs
    > Ability to organize, support, and document complicated projects
    > Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    > Availability to work evening and weekend hours on occasion as necessary
    > Note: While the Open Educational Resources and Instructional Technology Assistant/Non-Teaching Adjunct position is currently remote, the selected finalist is expected to have access to a laptop/computer, internet and phone access to perform most job duties and responsibilities. Upon return to normal campus operations, this position will require some in-person hours at the LaGuardia Community College Library, 30-10 Thomson Avenue, room E-101, Long Island City, NY 11101.
