    > The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CELT) is a University-wide resource that promotes teaching effectiveness among faculty and collaborates with other teaching and learning initiatives across Tufts. The Center strongly values evidence-based and inclusive practices in learning and teaching. Reporting to the Office of the Provost, CELT offers a variety of programming for faculty and administrators to enhance teaching, works with departments across Tufts’ ten schools on educational initiatives and curriculum, oversees and participates in various grants, co-sponsors leadership development and mentoring programs, and offers a university-wide teaching conference.

    > This senior level position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced faculty developer to share in the leadership of a highly collaborative team at a selective Research 1 university. Specifically, the person in this role:

    > Manages and develops innovative programming to support the advancement of teaching, learning, educational innovations and strategic academic initiatives. Facilitates and continuously improves core programs in both teaching and learning and leadership.
    > Consults with department chairs and faculty to assess and support professional development needs.
    > Supports the development of new initiatives to support the Provost’s strategic plan.
    > Writes and manages Center grants and collaborates with faculty on grants with educational components.
    > Publishes and presents CELT work at national and international conferences.
    > Guides Center research on teaching center effectiveness.
    > Serves as representative on university, college and professional development committees and boards.
    > Responsible for supervising assigned Center staff.
    > Required Qualifications
    >
    > Completion of Ph.D/Ed.D.
    > 5 – 10 years of progressive leadership in a teaching center
    > Experience in designing, promoting and evaluating faculty development programming in a research or doctoral granting university
    > Deep understanding of current and emerging “best practices” in the field of faculty development and learning science
    > Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations
    > A creative and motivated self-starter who will contribute to a strong and highly collaborative team through developing and implementing tested and emerging ideas from the field
    > Excellent writing and oral communication skills
    > Strong facilitation skills
    >
    > Preferred Qualifications
    >
    > Teaching experience at the university level
    > Experience with curriculum development
    > Experience in leadership and mentoring program development
    > SoTL or educational publication record
