Passing it Forward: Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ Elders Sharing The Wisdom From Their Walk

Through their own voices and images, this project will link the personal stories of Black and Latinx, LGBTQ+ changemaking elders — those around 50 years old and above — to the political and social movements they are connected to.

Far too often when LGBTQ+ elders are interviewed or surveyed, it is around issues of discrimination, HIV, poverty, depression, or some other form of pathology.  And this is even more true when it comes to older LGBTQ+s who are also Black or Latinx.  This work brings a different voice.  By allowing this growing and important population to reflect on their activism and wisdom, this project will provide a venue to allow these changemakers to educate and inspire.

This project seeks an intern to help with organizing the logistics between the interviewers and respondents.  Candidates should be detail oriented, able to work with a pre-existing research team, and well versed in managing emails.
