There are opportunities emerging from the current COVID-19 crisis, including jobs as Contact Tracers:
American states are scrambling to staff up on contact tracers, hiring 100,000-300,000 employees to keep tabs on COVID-19 patients and their contacts. The job is often (though not always) well paid, up to $65,000 per year, and ideal for furloughed workers with strong social skills. And, there is FREE training available online, via Johns Hopkins University:

You may want to consider this as you think about internship possibilities (you could find a way to access data from the tracing and analyze it), or if you are looking for work post-graduation.
