The Evaluation & Practice Innovation team at Services for the Underserved (S:US) is seeking a Data Analyst to use data in evaluating practice and programs, and in developing metrics for success.
The team’s analysis helps program leaders recognize gaps and informs their ongoing efforts to improve services and internal practices for the individuals S:US serves. The Data Analyst will assist with data collection, management, analysis, and reporting findings of analysis for new and existing programs and special initiatives. The Data Analyst will support the EPI team’s collaboration with programs to maintain, improve, and develop tools for actionable data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Collection & Analysis
- Assemble quantitative data from primary and secondary sources, including digital record systems and direct outreach to program staff
- Merge datasets, clean data, and conduct bivariate and multivariate statistical analysis of cross-sectional, time-series, and panel data
- Use graphics to illustrate data
- Synthesize and summarize data for external funding reports and internal use
Reporting
- Assist with report writing for various audiences including funders of programs and pilot projects, program management, and agency leadership
Design and Implementation
- With EPI Team, collaborate with program management to create systems for data collection, data management, and reporting structures to monitor program services, goals, and outcomes.
- Assist in survey design and development of other data collection tools
- Contribute to design and construction of BI tools for data management
- Collaborate with program management to support implementation of data collection and BI tools, including assisting with webinars and creating reference materials for staff training.
- Maintain dashboards by uploading datasets, monitoring data collection, ensuring data quality, and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as required by the department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree required
- 1-2 years of experience managing and analyzing data
- Experience with statistical data analysis software (e.g. SPSS)
- Proficient in analytical functions in Excel
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree strongly preferred
- Experience using BI software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with human services, healthcare, or public health setting
Location: Remote position with offices in mid-town Manhattan
