    Sending this because the story breaks my heart.
    Written by poet Rosanna Warren — think shes a Connecticut poet?—

    Dont be fooled by title here: according to Warren, Pal Picasso wouldn’t
    lift a finger to save his old friend & fellow artist Max Jacob— from French
    anti -Jewish hatred: although Jacob was a converted practicing Catholic
    when the Nazis got him. Fortunately he died in a “detainment camp” before
    being cattle-bussed to Auschwitz.
    (Hey Apple Google doesn’t recognize Auschwitz. )
    Also a glimpse of systemic racism beyond our guilty shores.

    HOWEVER the story is about art translation and poets, as well about our
    Parisian between World Wars era:
