As the multi-billion dollar festival and live entertainment industry was slowed to halt due to COVID, entertainers and artists were forced to share their works via new mediums. New questions and challenges arose: what platforms exist that could present works in acceptable qualities to many users on affordable servers hat people will actually use, and how could the artists and promoters be compensated for their works? Artists found many venues and backchannels, such as Minecraft and streaming sites such as twitch, as well as the advent of “Digital Merch” and “NFT” crypto-tokens that represent purchasing and owning an art piece.
