I mean, not to plug for MIT or anything. But I got this press release in my email where they announce that they are doing a book publishing program that sounds a little bit like a subscribe to open model, where libraries pay for the archive and they put the money toward making new books open. It’s not a new idea, but I guess I pay more attention when MIT is doing it.

Anyway, I was wondering what everyone thinks about this and whether anyone has ever considered participating in this type of model.
