    Hi all,

I just signed up to help with an ambitious and, I think, important project to help open up journal literature in the field of library and information science. The Library Pipeline Green Open Access Working Group is looking for volunteers to track one or more subscription-based journals over a period of six months, and then contact the authors to request that they self-archive their work in an open access repository. They estimate that this will take 1-2 hours per month.

(I just volunteered to track Journal of Access Services and Internet Reference Services Quarterly, two Taylor & Francis journals, and I see some unclaimed journals that may appeal to some of you.)

Here’s more information about the project, if you’re interested:

(It links to a Google Doc where you can volunteer, if you’d like.)
