LACUNY Emerging Technologies Committee

The LACUNY Emerging Technologies Committee is dedicated to collaborative exploration of technologies that further the CUNY libraries’ missions. Through workshops, hack days, demoes, and other meetings, CUNY librarians learn new skills from each other and cultivate a community of openness, sharing, and encouragement.

Reminder: LACUNY Emerging Tech Committee to meet on 8/27 @ 10 AM

  • Dear colleagues,

The LACUNY Emerging Tech Committee will be revived at the end of the summer with a new team of co-chairs: Allie Verbovetskaya (Office of Library Services), Stephen Zweibel (Hunter College), and Robin Davis (John Jay). Come join us on Tuesday, August 27, from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Baruch Library (room 320a)!

On the agenda for this meeting:
    – Follow-up on co-sponsored Content Farm event, including ideas for continuing the conversation locally and CUNY-wide.
    – Recap of Stephen Zweibel’s Web API workshop and planning for future hands-on workshops (e.g., basic Python, Python for Collection Development, CSS, and a more general JavaScript overview).
    – “News from the committee!” and “What’s everyone been up to?”

Please join us and help us get this group active again! There will be coffee and snacks to get our creative juices flowing.

    Best,
    Allie Verbovetskaya (OLS)
    Robin Davis (JJ)
    Stephen Zweibel (HC)
