The LACUNY Emerging Technologies Committee is dedicated to collaborative exploration of technologies that further the CUNY libraries’ missions. Through workshops, hack days, demoes, and other meetings, CUNY librarians learn new skills from each other and cultivate a community of openness, sharing, and encouragement.

    The LACUNY Emerging Technologies Committee invites you to our October workshop:

    HTML & CSS for Library Web Services
    Date: Tuesday, Oct. 29, 10am-1pm
    Location: Graduate Center, Rm. 6418
    Leaders: Allie Verbovetskaya (OLS), Robin Davis (John Jay)

    Learn or review the basics of HTML and CSS in the context of common library web services. We’ll walk you through customizing the LibGuides and SerialsSolutions interfaces to match your library website. You’ll be provided with easily editable bundles of code and step-by-step instructions. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be prepared to implement these customized interfaces and will have a better understanding of HTML and CSS basics.

    Who this workshop is for:
    * Librarians looking to learn web design basics. No prior experience necessary!
    * Librarians who want to know how they can change multiple web services interfaces to match their library & college brands.
