More and more of our academic services are being outsourced to tech companies. Our research, classroom management, and even test proctoring are being done on electronic, third-party platforms. The companies that schools buy these services from are getting into the data analytics business, selling personal data dossiers and other predictive and prescriptive data products. In this talk, we\’ll take a look at the new data analytics business models and consider how these products impact our privacy.

Sarah Lamdan is a Professor of Law at the CUNY School of Law. She specializes in government information access and transparency, and especially issues related to environmental law and environmental information access.
