*Podcasting the Humanities: An Introductory Workshop *

March 21, 4 pm, English lounge, GC room 4406. Organized by Destry Maria
    Sibley.

This workshop will provide a basic introduction to academic podcasting in
the humanities. Sibley, a professional podcast producer and doctoral
candidate in English, will provide a birds-eye view of the landscape of
academic podcasting, exploring the affordances, challenges, and future
directions of the field. The second half of the workshop will focus on the
skills and resources needed to get started with a scholarly podcast, using
Sibley’s own dissertation podcast as an example. We will review best
practices for how to write for the ear, conduct an interview, identify and
speak to an audience, and employ audio and digital media tools.
Participants will leave with a list of resources to explore further. No
prior experience with digital media is required.
