Got a project you can tell us about in 5 minutes? Tell us about it in a lightning talk at NYC DH Week (kickoff event February 6)

Deadline to submit is Friday, February 3, at 9:00 a.m. If accepted, your talk will be given at the NYC DH Week Kick-off Event, Monday, February 6, sometime between 1:30-2:30 PM. You’ll know if your talk is accepted by the end of the day on Friday.

    How it works:
Apply for the talk, and if you’re accepted, we’ll request your slide deck. With such a short length of time, you’ve got to plan your talk carefully. Your statements should be succinct, and your slides should be snappy!

Lightning Talk tips from some pros:
Scott Berkun, author of Confessions of a Public Speaker, offers some master advice:
Michelle Lam, founder of True&Co, explains that less is more:
How many words? How many words per slide?! Sarah Glassmeyer figured it out:
Need a lightning talk timer? There’s an app for that!

If you’re selected, practice, practice, practice!
