    Two upcoming events from the Futures Initiative and the Library may be of interest to those working on digital dissertations and multimedia scholarship:

    • Friday, November 21, 1-3 p.m.: Digital Platforms for Multimedia Scholarship
      Join Alexei Taylor and Diana Taylor (NYU) for a demo and discussion of Scalar, a pioneering platform that offers scholars the tools to author media-rich online publications. Moderated by Jessie Daniels. The event will be livestreamed at http://bit.ly/FuturesED-live. Lunch will be provided.
    • Monday, December 1, 1-2 p.m.: The Evolving Dissertation Landscape: A discussion with ProQuest
      Austin McLean (ProQuest’s Director of Scholarly Communication and Dissertations Publishing) and Polly Thistlethwaite (Chief Librarian, The Graduate Center) will discuss the history of dissertation indexing, questions about ProQuest’s role relative to open-access and digital publications, and more.
