DARC (Digital Archive Research Collective)

The Digital Archive Research Collective is a platform that aims to address the needs of students, faculty, and communities working on archival research at The Graduate Center. Our primary goal is to assist in the creation of digital archives and exhibitions. We also aim to provide resources (in the form of tutorials, best practices, and workshops) on the archival research process itself. We hope to foster community among digital archivists and researchers by promoting projects and facilitating communication across disciplines and institutional settings.

Silvia and I wanted to let you all know that we are working on an online academic commons space to showcase the archives people in our GC are building. Please email us at if you’d like to share your work!!

We are building to one DARC event for the end of the school year so stay tuned.

Digital Archive Research Collective Meeting this Friday, 10am!

  • Dear archive enthusiasts!

As we enter the middle of the semester, we want to invite everyone to join us in person, this Friday March 22nd, at 10am in our Digital Scholarship lab (room 7414) and over zoom to chat about what you want out of the DARC community. Over this semester, we’ve learned about new project ideas and seen a completed online collection—we want to know how best to support your archival projects.

The NYPL Archive has offered us a possible tour in early May and we’d love to hear about what you want to see!

Thank you and looking forward to chatting,

    Leanne and Silvia
