Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

THATCamp Museums NYC – May 18-20

    Please see the announcement below from Kimon Keramidas of the Bard Graduate Center Digital Media Lab:

    This May 18-20 the Bard Graduate Center will be host to THATCamp Museums NYC. THATCamp Museums NYC is an unconference that will bring together academics, librarians, museum professionals, and students in the New York City region who are interested in the intersection of museums, cultural, heritage, and technology. The conference will consist of one day of workshops and two days of sessions addressing a wide array of topics such as collections management, digitization, archival practices, technology and pedagogy, and interface design. Registration is open to the first 90 registrants on a first-come-first-serve basis and best of all, its free!
