Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

Reminder: JITP Submissions Deadline Approaching (May 1)

  • In the excitement of so many DHI events and announcements, please don’t forget to submit to the Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy. We’re currently accepting articles, webtexts, or other digital pieces that report and reflect on new uses of technology in teaching, learning, or research. Work received by May 1, 2012 will be peer-reviewed for possible publication in our upcoming Fall 2012 issue. We especially encourage you to submit projects originating in the ITP certificate program.

In addition, we always welcome contributions to our rolling sections: Teaching FAILs (where you help others learn from your mistakes), Assignments, Book Reviews, and Tool Tips (reviews and advice on applying particular technologies).

To view full submission guidelines, or to read our current issue, please visit us online!
