Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

Reminder: Digital Archives + Sound Studies Groups Meeting Tomorrow at 1:00PM!

  • Hello all!

Just sending a friendly reminder that the first Spring semester meeting for the Digital Archives Research Collective (DARC) + Sound Studies Groups is taking place tomorrow at 1:00PM. This is a great opportunity for people interested in digital archives, web curation, website design, data gathering, podcasting, music, and working with a variety of different kinds of tools. We will make space for people to discuss their projects as well as address any technical or research issues that they may be facing. I will share the zoom link for the meeting on our commons groups tomorrow.

    See you there!!

  • Helllo Param,

Will this meeting be recorded for those of us who are very interested but cannot attend due to teaching/WAC meeting/etc.?

    Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

This meeting will not be recorded. We do this because we have found that recording meetings can make folks nervous and less willing to speak up and share their work. It is our hope to create an informal and comfortable space to encourage sharing ideas. If you need any help with your project or would just like to discuss your ideas, please consider requesting an individual consultation with us. I’m really sorry to miss you at tomorrow’s meeting, but please do remain in touch and feel to ask any questions in the forum here. We’re glad to help!

    Best,

    Param
