Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

NYCDH

  • Hi All,

Those of you who just recently joined our group may be interested in joining NYCDH, the New York City Digital Humanities working group, which brings together DHers from institutions across the NYC area for workshops, events, and get-togethers. Many of us from CUNY are involved; the site is hosted by the GC and runs our Commons In A Box software.

You can find the site here – http://nycdh.org and the organization’s twitter account here – @nycdh. The NYCDH site also has a NYC-wide calendar that will be very useful for those looking for DH-related events in and around the city. I would recommend joining the Announcements group there as well as any specific subject-area groups that might interest you.

    Best,

    Matt
