Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

    Hello All,

I hope you have had a lovely and productive summer. I am writing to share information about a brand new program being offered through the Education Department here at The Studio Museum in Harlem. The program is a Museum Education Practicum. It is geared toward graduate students, emerging museum educators, and sophisticated undergraduates. This is an 8 week course that will be taught here at the museum. I am attaching more information about the program as well as how to apply. Essentially this course will equip participants with the skills to become museum educators and offer them some practical experience, in addition to engaging in discussion around contemporary art practice. The deadline to apply is September 12th. I look forward to speaking with you in the future and please feel free to contact me or direct individuals to me with any questions.

    Best,
