Building Project-Based Research Communities around Humanities Data

Location: NYU Center for the Humanities, Fifth Floor, 20 Cooper Square, New

Description: Following a brief introduction, panelists report on
NewYorkScapes, a collaborative venture between NYU College of Arts and
Sciences, NYU Libraries, and NYU IT, as an example of building ties among
researchers through project-based collaboration and support for place-based
learning. Featuring Thomas Augst (Associate Professor and Chair, Department
of English, NYU), Nicholas Wolf (Research Data Management Librarian, NYU
Libraries), and Seth Kaufman (Founder and Lead Developer, Whirl-i-Gig).
Moderated by Clak Shirky (Vice Provost for Educational Technologies, NYU).
