Digital Humanities Initiative

The CUNY Digital Humanities Initiative (CUNY DHI), launched in Fall 2010, aims to build connections and community among those at CUNY who are applying digital technologies to scholarship and pedagogy in the humanities. All are welcome: faculty, students, and technologists, experienced practitioners and beginning DHers, enthusiasts and skeptics.

We meet regularly on- and offline to explore key topics in the Digital Humanities, and share our work, questions, and concerns. See our blog for more information on upcoming events (it’s also where we present our group’s work to a wider audience). Help edit the CUNY Digital Humanities Resource Guide, our first group project. And, of course, join the conversation on the Forum.

Mark Phillipson started the topic Job opportunity: Assistant Director, GSAS
Teaching Center in the forum NYCDH Announcements

    “Hi all,

We’ve opened up a line for an Assistant Director here at Columbia’s GSAS
Teaching Center – here’s the job description:
    https://jobs.columbia.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1414015730921

The GSAS Teaching Center engages primarily with graduate students, and
often emphasizes the exploration and use of emerging communication
technologies in higher education. You can get an idea of the range of our
programming by browsing our website (
    http://teachingcenter.wikischolars.columbia.edu/ ).

We often partner with other digital support groups at Columbia, such as the
Center for New Media Teaching and Learning and the Center for Digital
Research and Scholarship — and we share our home, Studio@Butler, with the
    Digital Humanities Center here.

The Assistant Director will have many opportunities to define and implement
new modes of teaching support, and to cultivate collaborative relationships
across Columbia. Please pass along this job description to anyone you think
    may be a good fit.”
