*Director of Book History and Digital Initiatives*
The American Antiquarian Society seeks a director of book history and
digital initiatives to manage the Society’s Program in the History of the
Book in American Culture (PHBAC) and play a leading role in creating and
administering digital projects. The Director of Book History and Digital
Initiatives acts as an ambassador for AAS to the larger academic community
through conferences, programs, and publications. This position works
closely with other staff to coordinate efforts to create and maintain
digital access to collections, including work with digital collaborations
such as the Networked Early American Resources (NEAR), the Advanced
Research Consortium (ARC), and the Just Teach One and Just Teach One
African American Resources Initiatives.
This position will play a leadership role in crafting a strategic plan for
the Society’s PHBAC program and will oversee the development and execution
of initiatives under that program, including the week-long summer seminar
program and the annual Wiggins Lecture series, as well as developing new
workshops and programs in the Society’s new interactive long-distance
Learning Lab.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates for the position should have a demonstrated interest in digital
initiatives.
*COMPENSATION: *This is an exempt full-time, 35 hour per week position,
M-F, $63,000 – $67,000. Benefits include paid vacation, sick and personal
time, health insurance, retirement, life, and disability insurance, and
professional development.
