Hi Everyone,
As announced on our blog ( http://bit.ly/dMfGe7 ), we are excited to welcome Tom Scheinfeldt of George Mason University’s Center for History and New Media (CHNM) to our final CUNY DHI event of the semester. As you probably know, CHNM has been at the forefront of a number of exciting DH projects, including Omeka, Zotero, and Anthologize. Tom’s leadership at CHNM goes beyond his work on those projects, however — please check out his wonderful blog, Found History http://www.foundhistory.org/ , for his ruminations on the field. A few favorite posts of mine include:

Tom was recently featured in the _New York Times_ article on the Digital Humanities ( http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/17/arts/17digital.html ), so his appearance at CUNY DHI is very timely. I encourage you to come out for this session not only because of Tom’s importance to the DH community or because it’s our last formal gathering of the season, but also because Tom is a great guy and a wonderful speaker who deserves our support.
Please also plan on joining us the next night, if you can, when we’ll be heading out to John’s on Bleeker for CUNY Pie ( http://bit.ly/bmFiZ3 ).
I hope to see you there! Time & place: December 1st , 6:30pm-8:30pm, CUNY Graduate Center, Room 9207.
Best,
Matt
