Comp Comm is the Graduate Center\’s interest group for teachers of writing and writing-intensive classes, and for people who are interested in Writing Studies scholarship.
We are happy to announce our Fall 2017 schedule of speakers, workshops, and events. Our events this month will take place on select Mondays in 5414 from 6:30-8:00pm (unless otherwise noted). Please take a look at the Comp Comm events page on our Commons site for event descriptions.
This coming Monday, September 11th, Dr. Todd Craig from Medgar Evers College presents “The Kurious Curator’: The Makin’ of Straight Outta English.” The talk will focus on the various ingredients that contributed to the making of the special issue of Changing English: Studies in Culture and Education entitled “Straight Outta English” (web link), which investigates the way that hip-hop has shaped pedagogy and scholarship in English Studies.
