BWe CFP on Accelerated Learning Programs (186.1k)   Uploaded by Tim McCormack on 9/21/2015

BWe Call for Submissions: Accelerated Learning in Basic Writing: Investigating the Successes and Challenges of ALP Models Submissions due by December 1, 2015 Guest Editors: Leah Anderst, Jennifer Maloy, and Jed Shahar Queensborough Community College, CUNY __________________________________________________________________________ This special issue of BWe will focus on accelerated models of basic writing and college composition, particularly the Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) model envisioned by Peter Dow Adams and his colleagues at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) (Adams, et al.). Within the ALP model, students identified as needing a basic/developmental writing course enroll in a sequence of two credit-bearing college writing courses while attending a linked (non-credit) companion course to support their learning. The educational benefits for students and the cost benefits for colleges have led more than 200 colleges and universities to establish ALP programs.

CUNY Composition Fact Book (4.7m)   Uploaded by Tim McCormack on 3/7/2015

This PDF from 2006 gives brief writing program profiles for all CUNY undergraduate campuses. This CUNY-wide information allows individual WPAs to see what is going on with writing at peer CUNY schools. This can be very valuable when making arguments about course enrollment, sequence decisions etc. This book really needs to be updated and CCRC could do this job--soon.
