• The National Equity Project has given us permission to “remix” their Liberatory Design Mindsets resource with their Creative Commons license.

Task

• Imagine you were supporting your teacher candidates to embody some of the Liberatory Design mindsets or CITE Community Agreements as they set about designing activities for their learners. How might you remix the directions of this activity?

• Brief Reflection & Rationale: The activity was remixed to align with content covered in my course (e.g., lesson planning design, as well as student-centered and cooperative approaches to learning). As such, I remixed the activity to model a Think-Pair-Share (i.e., cooperative learning method) that would give my students the opportunity to reflect on Liberatory Design Mindsets and how they can be applied to their instructional design (e.g., lesson plans or student learning activities). As part of the remix, students are asked to provide evidence-based rationales to support their ideas.
