Background
- The National Equity Project has given us permission to “remix” their Liberatory Design Mindsets resource with their Creative Commons license.
Task
- Imagine you were supporting your teacher candidates to embody some of the Liberatory Design mindsets or CITE Community Agreements as they set about designing activities for their learners. How might you remix the directions of this activity?
To complete this task:
- Either download the PowerPoint slides attached to this forum post OR make a copy of this Google Slides presentation.
- Remix the activity on Slide 3. You can add more slides if you need.
To Share:
- Attach your PowerPoint, or link your Google slides to your discussion forum post when you’re done. If you go the Google Slides route, make sure permissions allow anyone to view your work.
- Add a brief reflection on your process and what you hoped you accomplished with the activity.

MemberHere is my remixed activity. I chose to use the “CITE Community Agreements” because I believe they will be more accessible to my students than the “Liberatory Design Mindsets.”

ParticipantHello Everyone,
I gladly share my remix activity with you. It was a worthwhile experience for me to complete this module. In my remix activity, I chose 3 mindset cards and slightly adjusted the texts of some of the protocols to create the attached presentation and share my reflection on the activity. I found the mindset cards, the reading, and the work shared on this forum quite refreshing. Please click on the link below to view the presentation.

ParticipantIt has been a pleasure to see how all of you have developed your remix activity and to consider the variety of ways that these can be implemented with teacher educators.
In my remix activity I consider how the adoption of mindsets takes time and community to integrate it into our daily practice. My activity guides students to process this information internally, in dialogue, and with time. As an arts educator, I have students select a creative modality to represent their interpretation of the mindset.

MemberYou always know how to create low stakes writing assignments that allow students to reflect and think about the work they are doing. I always “steal” your ideas for my discussion boards during the semester.

MemberI appreciate the tone and compassion these resources conveyed. Many of these concepts feel intuitive but seeing them in a comprehensive framework stands out.
