Our meeting scheduled for this afternoon must be delayed until next week due to an unanticipated schedule conflict. I will be back in my office at around 4:30 and will be available by phone from then until 5:15: 646-344-7327.
I’m away this Friday. Joe Ugoretz will report on our activities over the past month at the CAT meeting.
1) We submitted a CUNY IT proposal for a roundtable: Eportfolio Exchange.
2) The call for proposals for the 4th Annual AAEEBL World Summit is forthcoming; they anticipate sending it out on October 1. The conference this year will be held at the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel, July 29 – August 1, 2013. The conference theme is “What Do We Know about Eportfolios?”
AAEEBL Conference Title: “The ePortfolio Field Coming of Age: Knowledge, Research and Practice”
AAEEBL Conference Keynotes: Randy Bass, Bret Eynon and Helen Chen
2) Thanks to Fei-Wen and Eva Fernandez for the many good ideas for the Eportfolio and High Impact Practices conference generated at our last committee meeting. Joe Ugoretz, the committee co-chair, and I met on August 31. We have decided to simplify the program and hope that the outcome of our deliberations provides an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of ideas about eportfolios.
The conference will be held on April 12, 2013, at Macaulay Honors College and limited to 75 people. The goal is to engage in a serious conversation about eportfolios at CUNY. CIS staff will be invited to the coffee and dessert session in the afternoon. Attendance will be by invitation and/or by application. Joe Ugoretz has a Word Press form we may adapt for this purpose. Individuals actively working with eportfolios across CUNY will be encouraged to apply. The basic schedule is provided on the grid below.
