For those who commute to work/class by bike (or want to start!), this group serves as a common space in which to discuss related issues, share news and concerns, and have a united presence in CUNY. Also on Twitter and Facebook.
Registration is now open for Tour de Staten Island on Saturday, May 12! It’s a free, ride-at-your-own-pace event.
The 21.5 mile tour will start and end at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The route will showcase the lovely FDR Boardwalk along South Beach, before heading inland to the rest stop at Historic Richmondtown, followed by a challenging climb through the greenbelt, and a jaunt through historic Snug. The ride will finish back at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark, conveniently located next to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
The general meeting place is at the SI Yankee Stadium (Richmond Terr & Bank St) so let’s all meet there at 9:30 AM. (Registration is 9-10.) I’ll be wearing a bikeCUNY t-shirt so look for me!
I’ll also be bringing bikeCUNY buttons with me! So if you’ve been on the fence about this ride, I hope the buttons sway you… Register today (it’s free!) and meet your colleagues (and other NYC cyclists) at 9:30 AM at the SI Yankee Stadium for a fun ride around Staten Island.
