KJB: Matthew; Chapters 1 to 8 :

How are dreams used in the narrative?

In the narrative dreams are used to send a message. For instance in Matthew, Mary suddenly becomes pregnant and there was no way telling how so he was going to leave Mary. Furthermore, when Joseph decides to leave Mary, The holy spirit comes talks to Jospeh in a dream and tells him that Mary is not holding an ordinary baby, it’s a part of the holy spirit. When Jospeh realizes it’s a message from The holy spirit he decides to stay with Mary. Therefore, dreams are used in the narrative to send messages to the people that are selected by the Holy spirit to change the actions they may take when the unbelievable things happen.
