The goal here is to start a journal, a conversation with yourself, about the writing process.  Where, hopefully, your papers will show how your writing has progressed and evolved throughout the semester – these entries should represent how the writing process has evolved for you.  You should consider things like:

1-Your Prep: What do you do to put yourself in writing mode? Is there a specific spot where you’re writing, are you using any particular tools? Is it in silence or is there music or a tv in the background? What kind of preparation do you require to get yourself ready to execute an academic paper.

2-Research: Did this paper require a lot of hunting for resources or did you rely on your own history and knowledge to execute? What were your research steps (do you have research steps) – social media, online journals, youtube videos, local news stories, local paper articles, national magazine articles?

3-Annotation: how did you collect notes from the research that you did and include that in your paper? Did  you underline (or highlight)?  Did you record things to play back later? Did you jot things down in a notebook as you read along or watched?

4-Proofreading/Editing/Re-write: Did you rely solely on your peer review input when you re-wrote your piece or did you make some adjustments on your own that your felt might strengthen it? Did you incorporate the professor’s feedback or felt any of it was unnecessary (why or why not)? Did you discover new research that you included in your final draft that you did not have in your first draft?

Keep in mind, as you write, that this doesn’t have a large audience.  The audience is you and me, your professor.  Do not submit as question and answer format.  Write it as a blog entry, in paragraph form.  Your first entry shouldn’t be submitted until after Oct. 3, 2018.
