The picture reminds me of A Rose for Emily, because it shows a man standing protectively in front of a woman. The women looks like she is controlled by that man. In A Rose for Emily, the narrator describes a painting whee Emily’s father stands in front of her with a whip while she stands in the back wearing white. Her father represents repression.
